When baseball has been in the Olympics before, what was the MLB's stance?

It was an official Olympic sport from 1992-2008. Then, it came back in Toyko in 2020 for a single apperance. The league has never allowed its players to compete because it'd cause for a pause of the season, and for players to be "released" to their countries for a period of time. If the NBA can let its players play, and the WNBA and MLS also can pause their seasons . . . the MLB should follow suit. The sky won't fall.
